I've also heard of people replacing their lawn with nothing but covers and other carpeting plants because it makes it harder for the weeds to take over apparently. I also think the look of the white flowers from the clover lawns are super cute.
I've also noticed something similar in several different areas I've been in where that is the case (very attentive lawn maintenance). If the lawn is treated and cut very often, I hardly see any butterflies in those places.
That's unfortunate. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that batteries aren't better for the environment. The human and environment cost to source the lithium for them is just as bad if not worse than gas? 🤷🏾♀️
*sigh* I really hate the way dogs/animals in general are treated in this country and hate that there isn't much I can do about it permanently. There are some dogs where I am that are covered in ticks and fleas and their bones are showing. They also have mange.
I wish I could take them to a vet...
I am way too excited for this flight. I haven't been able to sleep well for days and have been walking around the apartment doing random little things to get ready. I just want to get this trip started so I can calm down a bit lol.
Curious to see what critter turns up. What are the temps where you are?
Sounds like my dad. In his early 70s and still working as hard as he did 50 years ago even though his back is not right anymore. Refuses to slow down for anything. He said only death will do that. :sigh:
This is what I told her: "I'll be honest with you... I think I need some space/distance away from this friendship for a little bit or a while, I really don't know yet. All I know is that I'm not getting the same enjoyment out of it as I used to and its been weighing heavily on me. It has gotten...
Interesting. I think some time apart does people some good at times. So I'm hoping it'll be the same for us. We may not talk in the next month, 6 months, or years, but it'll give us both time to grow as individuals apart and see how we are together again once we've hopefully both matured.
Anyone ever had to "break up" with a friend? I have a friend I've been talking to online for 9+ years and for the past 2 years, I felt like the relationship started spiraling down until I couldn't take it anymore and told her I needed time to myself without talking. I feel really bad and keep...
Don't know if I mentioned this already but in 5 weeks, my partner, my mom, and my parents (and me of course) will all be in Jamaica. On my mind is how to keep the mosquitos at bay.
I'm just worried because my work schedule as it is right now is affecting my relationship with my partner. He was basically in tears last night telling me that we hardly see each other anymore because he's got school in the day and I am home and then when he gets home, I am leaving for work...
Trying to find a job in my field is getting quite annoying. I keep getting told my work is "impressive" yet they don't hire me because I "lack experience". Most of the entry level positions I've seen want 3 - 5 years right off the bat. I've even seen some asking for as high as 7 years of...
It definitely looks like an echeveria. I think Kalanchoe's tend to branch out more like peperomias and jade plants. Echeverias tend to only have a center growth point and continue to get taller and taller. :)
Regardless, it's a very beautiful plant!
I advertise them on facebook marketplace right now. Hmm, yeah. I never really considered the time it might take because the plants do most of the work anyway. I just make sure they are watered and fed. And right now, I guess if I were to expand, I'd need more grow lights. Maybe it's okay at it's...
I've now made $150 in 3 weeks just from selling plant clippings and I'm wondering how far this will go for me and if I should look into expanding and turning it into a little business.
