I'm having the hardest time learning the right tension ,I start out okay and get tighter and tighter-I made a half of a scarf and ripped it out dozens of times-not that I want a scarf in South Florida( lol) but to practice..... it's very hard to knit
Don’t knock yourself, you’ve barely started. Getting the tension you want is muscle memory, and only comes with practice. It’s not a given even after years - I have trouble with stranded work because my tension is too tight.

A special Cat Knitters Flight! Book it to Avalon though, Melbourne airport (Tullamarine) is too far away. 😄
Can you imagine a plane full of people knitting? I remember a few years ago when they had knitters in the subway and they had a train full and some kind of parade. It was called the NY Subway Storm..crazy! Avalon here we come! LOL

The colours are gorgeous, aren't they? It's King Cole Riot, Autumn colourway - DK, 30% wool, 70% acrylic, and be warned, it roving, (ie not multiple plied strands, just one twisted strand) so it twists like crazy when you're knitting, whichever end of the skein you start with.

It is gorgeous- and looks so beautifully done as I'm still casting on and off -by the 3td or 4th trying to learn to get the tension right I rip it all out- practice practice they tell me?

Can I just say there is nothing evil about that adorable ' can't you see I'm busy?" Phoebe face!!!! My goodness she's a pretty girl- I love the knitting ,it's beautiful but Phoebe steals the show

"Can't you see I'm busy?" Oh that's purrfect! :flail:

It really is practice, and muscle memory, like learning to type, or drive a car. You just keep at it and eventually you get there!

A few months ago in the local knitting group there was a gal doing needle felting. I had never heard of it and found it interesting.
Well, tonight I happened to stumble across a series on Netflix called Cat People. The first episode is about a very talented needle felter who specializes in Wakuneco! She creates these lifelike felted replicas of peoples' cats which are then framed....she is such a gifted fiber artist. There are others who have tried to sell their work on Etsy, but they just don't measure up! It is worth a !ook if you have Netflix. CAT PEOPLE

Never seen anything like this in my life! I'd like to know how to get one made by this artist,Id imagine they cost a small fortune( be worth it though to immortalize my Cheechs beautiful face that I long to see everyday)

I’ve heard about those!! I saw a vid on YouTube where a girl made a felt dog for an owner who lost hers. The result was so lifelike! I tried one of those tiny kits (didn’t turn out well), but I still love it!
